Chance Richardson is a 24 year old active duty soldier in the United States Army who loves his country and has served with honor and integrity. He was diagnosed in October 2016 with NUT Midline Carcinoma in which his doctors have given him a survival rate of 6-9 months. This is a rare genetically defined, very aggressive squamous cell epithelial cancer that occurs in the midline of the body. In the United States approximately 20-30 cases are diagnosed each year. The average age of diagnosis for this type of cancer is 17 years to 25 years. Unfortunately NUT Midline Carcinoma is very resistant to standard chemotherapy treatments. Chance’s doctors suggest that treatment should be tailored to his case which involves clinical trials for molecular therapies. Without these tailored treatments the average survival is 6-9 months. We are asking for your help to get these trials. The US government has been outstanding with payment of medical bills but do not cover clinical trials and cost for travel to see these specialist. Since this is such a rare form of cancer you can imagine that the specialist is not located near where Chance lives. These clinical trial are his only chance of survival! His family and friends are exhausted as they try to support chance in every way possible. They are now asking for your help! Miracles happen every day and so does healing. Positive thoughts, positive words, positive actions, and prayers are the foundations of this fundraiser. Please keep Chance and his family in your prayers as they take one step at a time together toward perfect health.
